Well folks it has been quite the year for all us Rednecks heh. The economy still sucks, our borders are still open to non-citizens, and Rednecks keep getting kicked down by the media, comedians, and the city sophisticates. But who cares we get up each and every time. Redneck and Proud!
So with that said I wanted to recognize a few Rednecks of the Year for 2010.
First, the Tea Party folks. They really came together. As you know, I try to keep Save The Redneck un-political but the Tea Party was not about Politics, it was about bringing common sense and accountability to the government through smaller government, less regulations, and reduced spending. That’s not political that’s just a good idea. But remember the Tea Party people were panted as Redneck Racists and other pejorative terms by many in the media and most on the left. Thank God for the Tea Party Movement or this country would be in even bigger trouble. And thank God for all in the Redneck Nation who participated in the Tea Party events and told the weasel politicians what we thought.
Next up is Ginger Littleton…she was the woman that beat the crazy-ass gunman who held the school board in Florida at gun point. This little steel magnolia had enough presence and courage to beat the gunman with her purse. Now that’s one Redneck woman. She went on to sell her purse on eBay for charity for the less fortunate children in her county.
And last, I got to say is Charlie Daniels for releasing the 2010 version of “What the world needs is a few more rednecks.” Buy it on iTunes for it is now one of our anthems as Rednecks. A few lines from the song:
What this world needs is a few more rednecks
Some people ain’t afraid to take the stand
What this world needs is a little more respect
For the Lord and the law and the workin? manWe could use a little peace and satisfaction
Some good people up front to take the lead
A little less talk and a little more action
And a few more rednecks is what we needI was raised on beans and cornbread
And I like my chicken fried
Yes, I drive a pick-up truck
And I’m full of American pride
Who are your Rednecks of the year? Let us know!
